Job Description & Responsibilities:
Monitor,coordinate, and implement Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) management systems to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Assist management in achieving WSH objectives and targets by driving initiatives that enhance safety performance.
Oversee the development and enforcement of Method Statements (MOS), Risk Assessments (RA), and Safe Work Procedures (SWP) to ensure safe operations.
Advise management on legal compliance with WSH regulations and provide guidance to ensure alignment with local laws.
Conduct routine site inspections and audits, provide reports on findings, and ensure timely closure of non-conformities.
Support the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer in maintaining safety documents compliant with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
Conduct training sessions for new workers, including site-specific safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with project teams on environmental aspects such as noise monitoring,pollution control, vector control, and other relevant issues to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Prepare and submit statutory environmental reports and maintain accurate documentation for all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Enforce both environmental and in-house safety requirements, ensuring alignment with internal policies and local regulations.
Attend meetings with clients and government authorities to address safety and environmental compliance issues, providing regular updates and reports.
Assist in investigating incidents, preparing reports, and recommending preventive actions.
Requirements:
Degree in Civil Engineering or related construction field.
Degree in Workplace Safety & Health or a related safety discipline.
Must possess a Building Construction Supervisors Safety (BCSS) certification.
Registered Environmental Control Officer (ECO) with the National Environment Agency(NEA).
Must Possess Six Sigma certification preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in construction or infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, government agencies, and internal teams.
Proficient in risk management and the development of safe work procedures.
