Position title : Educational Support Teacher (EST)

Branch Needed: Bukit Batok / Yishun / AMK / Woodlands
Working day: Mon - Fri & 1 sat in a month

Working hours : 44 hours work week on rotating shift (Eg: 7am-4pm, 10am-7pm)

Salary : $3200 - $3700


Position Overview

The Educational Support Teacher’s (EST) primary role is to support class teachers and children with developmental concerns/ special needs in the implementation of appropriate educational programming within an inclusive learning environment to ensure that each child’s potential is maximised. In addition, they also work closely with families and caregivers, early intervention professionals to support the delivery of programme and services.


Job Requirement

- Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) (SDESN) or relevant


Job Scope

  • Consolidate information about the child from relevant sources (e.g., parents, SGEnable referral report, psychological report, previous intervention report, Brigance)
  • Share information with class teachers and principal.
  • Provide teachers some information about the disability
  • Conduct baseline assessments to formulate Individualised Education Plan (IEP)
  • Collaborate with teacher(s), the parents/caregivers, and the medical and allied health professionals to identify the child’s needs and IEP functional goals.
  • Support class teachers by demonstrating intervention strategies to work towards achievement of IEP goals.
  • Support the teachers to facilitate the child’s access and participation in the classroom activities through evidence based inclusive practices: curriculum modifications, embedded learning opportunities and child-focused instructions (one-on-one intervention).
  • Document the child’s progress in the IEP Progress Report and make appropriate recommendations in discussion with teacher(s) and other programme professionals (if any).
  • Communicate the child’s progress and follow-up plans (if any) with teacher(s) and parents/caregivers.
  • Demonstrate good time management by managing scheduling for screening, education support and collaborating with teachers and others.
  • Any other duties as and when assigned by the reporting officer.
