Job Description:
In your role as the General Manager of The Wine Distribution Co. ("TWDC"), you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, and overall management of the day-to-day operations of TWDC. A combination of strong business acumen, emphatic leadership skills, related industry expertise and experience, as well as a deep understanding of the wine distribution and wholesale market in Singapore, are essential in fulfilling the duties of this role.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Group's Core Management team to develop, and execute TWDC's strategic plans in alignment with its objectives and targets
- Identify new market opportunities, trends and emerging consumer preference to drive business development and growth
- Lead a team of Business Development Managers, the Administrative and Marketing team, as well as the Warehouse and Fulfilment team
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functionality
- Closely monitor financial performance; analyzing variances, and taking pro-active corrective actions when required
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement prudent financial practices
- Lead business development, sales, and marketing intiatives to effectively promote TWDC's products and services
- Foster a collaborative, efficient, and positive work environment for all
- Mentor and focus of development of team members, to promote professional growth and performance excellence by setting clear expectations and goals, providing regular feedback, and managing high employee performance
- Ensure full compliance with industry regulations, licensing requirements, and legal standards
- Stay updated on any changes in the law and regulations that might impact the wine distribution and wholesale business
- Represent TWDC in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
- Build and maintain, positive working relationships with all internal stakeholders, as well as with clients, customers, suppliers, vendors, investors and industry associations
- Be exposed to skill-development plans, and ad-hoc tasks beneficial for your development
Requirements:
- Degree / Masters from a recognized institution
- At least 5 - 7 years related experience is required
- Strong knowledge and expertise in wine, sake, and other alcoholic beverages
- Advantageous to have certifications in wine, sake, etc.
- Great communication skills with strong, positive interpersonal skills
- A team player with a strong sense of job responsibility, and a keen eye for details
- Honest willingness to learn and grow with TWDC
