Staff Operational Excellence Specialist (38785-JOB)

Position Summary:


Plans, performs and implements process improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma). Diagrams and evaluates existing processes. Organizes, leads and facilitates cross-functional project teams. Develops metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities. Collects data to identify root cause of problems. Measures performance against process requirements. Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls. Provides consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality. May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement and control. Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques and processes. Communicates team progress. Performs cost and benefit analyses.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to business operations strategy development and assist in the identification, planning, and implementation of business improvement opportunities.
  • Continuously measure and monitor processes, risks, and controls through post-implementation reviews and gap analysis.
  • Implement operational excellence strategies and roadmaps in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead and facilitate process improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies and plans that maximize adoption and usage of required changes. Anticipate and minimize resistant behaviors from employees and stakeholders impacted by the changes.
  • Mentor and coach continuous improvement champions to drive global metrics including productivity, cost, quality, delivery, and lead time.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on process/continuous improvement methodologies, tools and techniques.


Experience/Education:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience.


Preferred Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading improvement projects, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • LSS Green Belt certified and Black Belt trained/certified preferred.
  • A solid understanding of change management principles, methodologies, and tools. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Training in OCM, ACMP, PROSCI, ADKAR would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate workshops and training sessions.
