We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Special Education Teacher (Secondary Level) where you'll inspire and empower students to reach their full potential.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct classroom teaching in an inclusive setting for students in Grade 6 and 8.
- Conduct small group/ individual teaching sessions for students with learning difficulties.
- Design and implement secondary school-level curriculum content that aligns with the general education program while adapting it to suit students with varying abilities and learning challenges is an advantage.
- Develop and implement individualized Learning Plan (ILPs) tailored to each student's specific needs, in collaboration with other educators and specialists.
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials and teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Deliver high-quality instruction that meets the educational and developmental needs of students with disabilities.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate students' progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' performance, including IEP documentation.
- Work closely with support staff, and other specialists to ensure a coordinated approach to education.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' progress, challenges, and achievements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field from an accredited university.
- · A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a special education setting, preferably in a school environment.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with students with varying abilities.
- At least 3 years of experience working with children with learning difficulties.
- International Primary Curriculum (IPC) experience/ British Curriculum experience preferred.
- International school teaching experience, especially in Asia, is highly regarded.
- You may be assigned a teaching role or a mix of both teaching and CCA duties depending on the needs of the school.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including linking assessments to IEP development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Proficiency in behavior management techniques and the use of appropriate intervention strategies.
