The main role of Architectural Designer is to design and supervise Data Center projects (fit-out, brown field, green field). Architecturally the design shall be neat but still practical and functional. Additionally,
due to the nature of facility as Data Center, M&E is the key component of the building and Architectural and Structural elements need to be well coordinated with M&E. Therefore, skills to coordination and collaboration with M&E designers are essential. It is also necessary to coordinate with project stakeholders to complete project on time and deliver Data Centers with sufficient quality and within budget.
Job scope
- Perform Architectural consultancy works locally and internationally.
(For some projects, Architectural Consultant will work together) - Work closely with Client, Local consultants, PM, Constructors, Suppliers, Quantity surveyor based on the knowledge and experience of Architectural and Structural design.
- Assist Mechanical and Electrical designer from Architectural and Structural design point of view and do space coordination with M&E designers / engineers.
- Pre-sales / Pre-tender phase works will include:Conduct site survey
Prepare proposal / presentation material for submission / tender interview
Prepare supplemental material (SPEC, DWG) for quotation, review BoQ (Material and quantity)
Conduct technical review and propose value engineering
- Feasibility study (volume study) of new Data Center, office etc.
- To perform concept & schematic design:
- Summarize design requirement
- Schematic design report
- To perform detail design:
- Detail design development (drawings and specifications)
- Tender document preparation (tender design brief, scope demarcation)
- To perform construction phase design:
- Review of construction material / shop drawing
- Shop drawing preparation (with drafter), coordination and obtain approval from client or local consultant
- Periodical site inspection (internal check for quality improvement)
- Verify site installation works are accordingly to design intent
- Handover submission arrangement with drafter team and project team (As built DWG)
- Work closely with local consultants for Authority submissions (Architectural QP) and Structural PE endorsement (Structural PE)
- Design review of other employee’s Architectural design
- Guide and lead the Drafters for proper and high quality drawings
- Constantly learn latest DC technologies, green technologies and study applying to design
- Conduct internal training with engineering team for knowledge sharing to other employees.
- Summarize lessons learned from each project and contribute to design process improvement
