The key responsibilities and deliverables of a Risk Manager are as below:
- Implementation of credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk, interest rate risk in banking book, operational risk, outsourcing risk, information security risk management and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Risk policies/f rameworks/ guidelines/ practices at ICICI Bank Ltd., Singapore Branch in consultation with requisite stakeholders at the Branch or at Head Office.
- Ensure that policies and practices at Singapore Branch are in line with the policies and practices stipulated by Head Office/ local regulatory expectations.
- Implementation of Branch-level risk limits, wherever required and ensure adequate monitoring and reporting mechanisms for the same.
- Appropriate engagement with stakeholders including regulators, statutory auditors & internal auditors.
- Ensuring the risk management function operates independently and provides independent advice and independent views on all relevant proposals, processes and procedures, including assessment of credit and recommending proposals to approving authorities.
- Ensure that audit (internal, statutory, regulatory) issues/ observations relating to Risk are resolved/ addressed within stipulated/ reasonable timeline.
- Engage with local auditors, regulators and regulatory inspection team.
- Ensure that risk related matters are reported to relevant Branch forums with appropriate reporting to Head Office, wherever required.
- Oversight on operational risk and information security including governance structure, frameworks/ policies, reporting, risk appetite/ risk tolerance, risk/ vulnerability assessment, monitoring through dashboard/ KPIs/ KRIs, control implementation, incident management, training & awareness, business continuity/operational resiliency.
- Implementation and oversight on environmental risk/ ESG governance, strategy/ targets, risk management, scenario analysis, capacity building/ awareness and disclosures.
- Monitor, review and supervise the respective outsourced service provider performance (empanelled by risk team) including internal or external partners using various performance tools and up to date documentation such as Key Performance Indicators, Service Level Agreements, operational errors and site visits and ensure adherence to outsourcing framework.
Competencies:
- Strong understanding of different aspects of risk management in the banking industry, with 4+ years of relevant work experience
- Understanding of Indian and Singaporean banking landscape and relevant regulatory guidelines
