Organization Overview:
Metta Preschool Punggol (慈光幼儿园) has been providing specialized early intervention programs since its official opening on 31 July 2010. We receive cases from SG Enable through hospital referrals, with enrollment following an initial screening process. Our center focuses on early intervention for children aged two to six years old, from various races and religions, diagnosed or suspected with mild to moderate autism spectrum disorders (ASD), global developmental delay, and/or intellectual disabilities. Our goal is to maximize the developmental potential of these children.
Program Structure:
Children attend 3-hour sessions twice a week. Our multi-disciplinary team, including teachers, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists, collaborates to set specific and measurable 1-year goals for each child's Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The IEP covers six domains: fine motor, gross motor, adaptive, cognitive, social communication, and social skills.
Position Summary:
The Early Intervention Teacher plays a crucial role in implementing the Metta Preschool curriculum and fostering a safe, healthy, and conducive learning environment for students. This role involves collaboration with a transdisciplinary team to develop individualized education plans and deliver quality early intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement the Metta Preschool curriculum.
- Develop and prepare curriculum resources.
- Provide and maintain a safe, healthy, and conducive learning environment for students.
- Maintain student records.
- Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with a transdisciplinary team.
- Organize activities and outings for students.
- Assist in the On-the-Job Training (OJT) of new staff and interns.
- Comply with ISO requirements.
- Comply with NCSS/MSF requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or Head of Curriculum.
Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education or equivalent is preferred.
- Relevant work experience in a preschool setting is advantageous.
- Ability to work both independently and within a transdisciplinary team.
- Hardworking, meticulous, and responsible.
- Interest in working with children with special needs.
