Job Description
Clinical Care
- Comply with approved standards of nursing practices
- Work closely with the resident’s doctor and multi-disciplinary team to provide care to the residents; update on changes in the residents’ conditions and needs
- Assist staff nurses (SN) to develop care plan for each resident and ensure care delivery and nursing interventions are as outlined in the care plan
- Assist in the evaluation of the resident’s response to care interventions and revision of care plan if necessary
- Assist in the assessments of all new admissions
- Prepare residents’ medical records and ensure all documentations are up to date
- Prepare and administer medications (oral and subcutaneous) to residents, complying with safe medication practices (only for those who have been assessed competent in the administration of oral and subcutaneous medicine)
- Supervise junior staff to ensure safe and quality resident care, and in compliance to standards
- Deal with emergency and incident that arises and ensure prompt action to mitigate situation. Escalate promptly to staff nurse/ supervisor, where necessary
Quality
- Work with team to maintain a safe and clean ward environment
- Participate in Quality Assurance/ Infection Control Committee to monitor and evaluate safe, quality and appropriateness of nursing care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Is responsible to be familiar with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and all emergency protocols
Training and Development
- Participate in training and development of junior staff
- Ensure newly joined nursing aide, health care assistant and health attendant are oriented and inducted to provide safe care to residents
Administration
- Ensure the safe storage of all confidential files, records, documents; and that residents confidentiality is maintained at all time
- Ensure that effective and cooperative working relationships are maintained within the Nursing Department and between internal and external customer groups
- Assist in maintaining an inventory list of ward equipment and regular maintenance
- Assist to plan roster and do manpower deployment when needed
- Assume the role of Overall in charge in the absence of RN maintenance
Job Requirements
- 3 years or more relevant nursing experience
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
- NITEC in Nursing or in related field
- 5 days work week, rotating off days
- Only require to work morning or afternoon shift
