Job Summary:
The Contract Manager is responsible for overseeing the drafting, negotiation, and management of contracts related to FPSO projects within the oil and gas sector. This role ensures that all contractual obligations are met, manages risk, and ensures compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks. The Contract Manager plays a pivotal role in managing relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring that all contractual requirements are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Drafting & Negotiation:Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders for FPSO projects.
Ensure that all contract terms align with company policies, project goals, and legal requirements.
- Risk Management:Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks in FPSO operations.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the company’s exposure to potential disputes or claims.
- Contract Execution & Compliance:Ensure that all parties meet their contractual obligations and adhere to the agreed-upon terms.
Oversee contract execution, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and internal company policies.
- Claims & Dispute Resolution:Manage claims, disputes, and variations, including contract changes and amendments.
Lead the resolution of contractual issues, ensuring that claims are resolved efficiently while protecting the company’s interests.
- Stakeholder Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all contractual matters.
- Financial Oversight:Monitor contract performance, ensuring that costs, payments, and deliverables are aligned with contract terms.
Work closely with the finance team to track payment milestones, manage budgets, and ensure timely invoicing.
- Documentation & Record Keeping:Maintain organized and detailed records of all contractual agreements, changes, and communications for auditing and dispute resolution purposes.
Ensure accurate filing of all contractual documents, including change orders and payment certificates.
- Regulatory Compliance:Ensure that contracts comply with all local, national, and international regulations governing the oil and gas FPSO industry, including environmental, health, safety, and legal standards.
Stay updated on changes to relevant laws and regulations affecting FPSO operations.
- Contract Closeout:Lead the contract closeout process by ensuring that all contractual obligations have been met and all deliverables are complete.
Prepare post-contract evaluation reports and lessons learned for future projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education:Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
A relevant certification in contract management (e.g., Certified Commercial Contracts Manager - CCCM, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Experience:At least 7-10 years of experience in contract management, with a focus on oil and gas, preferably in FPSO projects.
Strong experience in negotiating and managing large-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracts in the offshore oil and gas sector.
- Skills:In-depth knowledge of FPSO project lifecycles, industry regulations, and contractual standards (e.g., FIDIC, LOGIC, or BIMCO contracts).
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong financial acumen and an ability to manage budgets and contract values.
Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
