Overview
Reporting to the Global Automation Manager, this is a central engineering role. The key focus will be responsible for the identification, prioritization, delivery, and management of OT (OPERATIONAL TECHNOLOGY) capital spend across the business.
The OT Lead will be the key decision maker dealing with 3rd party consultants delivering large IT/OT projects e.g., Digital Factory, System Platform Migration, IT (Information Technology) /OT projects and supporting other key initiative within cybersecurity.
Responsibilities
Capital Execution, Security & Technology Lifecycle:
- Work with the broader teams (PGCS IT/Global IT, Operations/Maintenance) to ensure flawless execution of the strategic programs and technology lifecycle with a focus on delivering business case benefits.
- Disaster Recovery and Cyber Security – develop and maintain disaster recovery and cyber security incident response plans to ensure business continuity for the OT layers.
- System Management - Coordinate system upgrades changes, testing, release / patch management, vulnerability management, onboarding, and integration of new OT environments.
- Technology Leadership – provide leadership and expertise for the operation and continued evolution of Aveva solutions, digital OT systems, cloud technologies, standards, and communication protocols.
- System Availability – Maintain high availability of the enterprise managed applications and digital system critical for operating the changing network.
Standardisation & Training:
- Ensure all projects are designed and executed to the PGCS automation and global PepsiCo specifications standards, ensure all projects meet compliance standards and industry best practice.
- Develop and provide technical training at all levels on the manufacturing sites to ensure effective handover of OT systems / projects.
- This role requires a significant skill set as this role is both a technology leadership role and a team leadership role. This role will require Technology Leadership requiring the role to provide leadership and expertise for the operation and continued evolution of Aveva solutions, digital OT systems, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, standards, and communication protocols and Team Leadership to manage and lead a team of OT and digital operations professional to support our growing digital projects within both staff members and third-party vendors.
People Management:
- Team Leadership: manage and lead a team of OT and digital operations professional to support out growing digital and IT/OT convergence projects.
- Partnering with IT is key to this role.
- This role requires significant technical competency in the automation and operational technology field and the ability to influence key stakeholders to drive change in operational methods and the ability to manage teams of contractors and staff to deliver capital projects to a high standard within committed budget and schedule.
- Other adhoc duties assigned.
Qualifications
- Automation or Engineering Degree/Master coupled with 10 years plus demonstrated track record in chemical or pharma or food environment.
- Knowledge and experience in defining and implementing security strategies and polices for OT environments.
- Understanding of ICS (Industrial Control Systems) policy and architecture standards
- Strong background in Risk Management and Analysis
- Strong IT knowledge (networks, servers, databases, OI (Operations Integration) communication etc.)
- Experience with development, integration and project management of automated control systems including e.g., PLC’s, SCADA, Batching Systems etc.
- Experience with all appropriate industry standards (e.g., S88/S95/ISA62443)
- Experience with integrating control systems with MES and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)
- Demonstrated Industry 4.0 / 5.0 experience and results.
- Strong background in the development and implementation of Aveva products including system platform, OMI, historian etc.
- Cloud computing qualification
- Broad knowledge and experience working with IT and Digital systems, cloud technologies, web services and AI (Artificial Intelligence).
- Knowledge and experience of ITIL practices for service incidents, problem, and change management.
- Excellent communication skills, be organized and articulate
- Strong background in the development and implementation of new innovative automation solutions (robots, AGV’s, automated storage and retrieval systems.
