Operations Manager (Japanese Cuisine)

We are looking for an experienced F&B Operations Manager with a passion for Japanese cuisine to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant(s). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Japanese food and beverage service, exceptional leadership skills, and proven experience in managing high-quality dining establishments. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations, enhancing customer satisfaction, and driving business profitability while maintaining the highest standards of service and food quality.


Key Responsibilities:

Oversee Daily Operations: Manage the overall operations of the restaurant(s), including front-of-house and back-of-house activities to ensure efficient service and smooth workflow.

Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and develop staff, including chefs, servers, and support staff, ensuring they provide high-quality service aligned with the restaurant’s vision.

Customer Experience: Uphold high standards of customer service, ensuring a premium dining experience for all guests, handling customer feedback, and resolving complaints promptly.

Menu Development & Execution: Collaborate with the executive chef to ensure the authenticity of the Japanese menu, food presentation, and quality.

Inventory & Supply Chain Management: Oversee ordering, receiving, and inventory control for all food, beverage, and supplies, ensuring minimal waste and optimal stock levels.

Budgeting & Cost Control: Monitor and manage restaurant budgets, including food cost, labor cost, and operational expenses to meet financial targets.

Marketing & Promotions: Work with the marketing team to develop and implement promotions, events, and seasonal menus to attract and retain customers.

Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the restaurant complies with all health, safety, and hygiene standards, as well as food handling regulations.

Vendor Relationships: Maintain good relationships with suppliers, especially those providing specialty Japanese ingredients, negotiating favorable terms where possible.

Customer Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with VIP and repeat customers, ensuring personalized service and dining experiences.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in F&B management, preferably in a Japanese restaurant or an F&B outlet specializing in Japanese cuisine.

Knowledge of Japanese Cuisine: Strong understanding and appreciation of traditional and modern Japanese cuisine, dining culture, and beverage pairings (including sake and Japanese tea).

Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading, managing, and motivating large teams, including kitchen and service staff.

Customer Service Expertise: Strong focus on customer satisfaction and guest engagement, with the ability to handle high-end clientele.

Operational Skills: Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities to manage daily operations efficiently.

Budgeting & Cost Control: Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive profitability.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of Japanese language and culture is a plus.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in restaurant management software, POS systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).

Flexibility: Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in managing multi-outlet operations or chain restaurants.

• Knowledge of marketing and social media strategies specific to the F&B industry.
