JOB SUMMARY
Vascular Technologist performs non-invasive vascular ultrasound and blood pressure studies.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply and adhere to the department’s in-service vascular training schedules and programs in acquiring knowledge and skills to perform diagnostic vascular ultrasound and non-invasive vascular studies for diagnostic of peripheral vascular disease and other vascular abnormalities.
- Generate written and diagram reports on the findings acquired.
- Ensure that the vascular works are carried out properly as stated in the protocols for ultrasound and other non-invasive procedures.
- Complete all training assignments as scheduled by the senior vascular technologist.
- Perform non-invasive vascular testing under supervision by vascular/senior vascular technologist and vascular doctors.
- Provide education and counseling service to patients.
- Responsible for all duties delegated by the senior vascular technologist.
- Assist and co-operate with seniors to ensure the operational needs, planning, projection and administration of the department are properly carryout.
- Provide support and assist in research studies conducted in the department.
- Ensure smooth and efficient daily operation of the department.
- Assist to ensure all vascular diagnostic equipment’s are properly maintained and at its functional state.
- Be an integral part of a team approach to the diagnosis and management of arterial and venous disease.
- Manage and organise your time for scans and reports.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Head of Department
JOB REQUIREMENT
- Degree or Diploma in Healthcare related field (preferably with prior experience as a Vascular Technologist or medical sonographer)
- Registered nurse with 2-3 year Nursing experience preferred
