Role:
The Quality Assurance Manager will lead Starline’s Singapore Quality team to meet the plant quality metrics goal & Quality Management System. This individual will plan and direct activities associated with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, products, and external suppliers within a global, certified integrated Management System. you will assist in the planning and execution of the corporate quality strategy and tactical action plans rollout. You will be responsible for quality planning and establishing and maintaining metrics to improve quality system processes, process capability, reliability, and quality of the products.
Main Job Duties:
- Responsible for development and implementation of activities that support “end to end” plant (execute)/group (strategic) quality objectives. Set and deploy annual and long-term strategic vision quality initiatives. Develop policy and procedures to support business goals
- Prioritize and monitor the activities of Quality Department personnel that support plant objectives to ensure they are in alignment with the critical activities supporting plant objectives.
- Analyze quality data and report results in terms of impact to the plant objectives and continuous improvement. Utilize quality tools to eliminate waste/scrap.
- Assure QA department is responsive to plant and customer needs.
- Assure the requirements of the quality management system are maintained within the company framework and ISO standard
- Deploy standardized, formal problem-solving tools (A3, 8D, “5 Whys”) and facilitate training to all appropriate individuals. Use problem solving tools as standard work in determining root cause analysis and short/long term preventative actions
- Responsible for interfacing with suppliers and Customer Service as it relates to supplied parts and customer complaints.
- Responsible for supplier quality performance and provide support to the strategic quality onboarding of new vendors/suppliers
- Lead supplier qualification, periodic audit, support internal and customer audit activities to maintain a robust and effective Quality Management System
- Manage supplier/ subcontractor quality issue with the aim of timely resolution and effective corrective action
- Working with cross functional teams, institute methodical approaches to ensure that solutions are focused on permanent root cause solutions and preventive measures
- Interface with New Product Development and Plant Project Leaders to ensure the activities related to new products
- Assure the Document Control System is maintained to support plant requirements
- Ensures clear and timely communication with support personnel and senior management with regards to quality issues, corrective actions & recovery plan
- Performs other similar and related duties as required
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Proven track record (5+ Years) in high-rate manufacturing environments of leading the quality efforts for major 9001 accredited businesses/corporations, with demonstrated tangible improved results that positively impacted business efficiencies and costs
- Strong understanding of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools. Knowledge of APQP and its associated tool set
- Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. An effective listener, able to maintain focus, extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
- Able to create effective reports, presentations and business correspondence and be comfortable presenting such to senior Wiremold/Legrand leadership and key customers. Strong executive presence Possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control several projects at various stages of work
- Possess strong actions & results oriented competencies to drive resolution at the root cause level and establish proactive corrective actions
- Strong understanding in the use of Quality & Process Controls tools (CAPA, 5 Why, Risk assessment, control plan, SPC, metrology, and inspection techniques)
