Responsibilities:
- Follow-up and ensure coordination & manage all flange management activities – Bolt torquing / tensioning, hand torque wrench, pneumatic wrench, impact wrench, etc.
- To ensure that flange management-related equipment is maintained on a regular and daily basis throughout the works scope duration, to deliver a high standard of work on smooth project completion.
- Effectively communicate with the client representative, engineering team and site teams to ensure all site activities are progressed in a timely manner.
- Be actively involved in onsite daily toolbox talk confirms that he understands what the work scope involves and be aware if there any changes to the work or worksite.
- Ensuring that flange management technicians perform their duties in accordance with the guidelines and all applicable site procedures, standards, and requirements.
- Maintaining and analyzing flange protocols, and bolting specialist performance, including meeting the requirements.
- Follow-up and ensure to populate a Joint integrity / Flange Management Register Database, Endure FM technicians are updating information on a daily basic and ensure consistency and readiness to hand over to Operation.
- Notify the non-conformance identified during site inspection and recommended corrective measures to Supervisor/Engineer.
- Participate and follow-up as necessary in technical audits within area of responsibility.
- Identify critical activities daily in a proactive manner to facilitate improvements in terms of quality, productivity, and safety.
- Contribute and feedback the operational difficulties, access for the systems and processes if any found onsite for corrective/improvement action.
- Contribute to experience transfer. Develop new methods to recommend improvements to all flange management activities.
- Prepare the project procedure for Flange Management as per project specification and brief the guideline to all FMT parties.
- Prepare the required manpower, tools and equipment for the entire projects and submit to HOD for hiring new FMT personnel, purchase/rental for tools and equipment as per project execution plan.
- Follow-up and ensure the requirements for the storage, preparation, maintenance and calibration of torque tools and bolt tensioning equipment for its safe use.
- Conduct the training for new workers to perform flange management and verified the competency of the personnel in the makeup of the flange joints.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent Engineering discipline with ECTIB or equivalent certificate.
- Preferably with (3) years of experience in torquing, flange management and torquing equipment.
- Familiar with Piping Standards ASTM, API, ASME, etc and conversant to B16.5/16.20.
- Experience working in the process plant or marine industry is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- The candidate should be independent, self-motivated, result driven and have a good sense of team working skills.
- Good attitude and possess the willingness to learn on the job.
