Job Summary:
The Wireman is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical systems, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Wiring:Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring systems according to electrical codes and safety standards.
Lay out, measure, and install electrical conduit and wiring for new and existing constructions.
Connect electrical systems to power sources, ensuring proper connections and functionality.
- Maintenance and Repairs:Inspect and test electrical systems and components to diagnose issues and determine necessary repairs.
Replace faulty wiring, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
- Safety and Compliance:Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Ensure all electrical installations and repairs comply with local and national electrical codes and regulations.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:Identify and troubleshoot electrical faults and malfunctions.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately assess issues and implement solutions.
- Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of work performed, including repairs, installations, and inspections.
Prepare and submit reports as required by management.
Qualifications:
- Prefer at least 2 years of experience as a Wireman or similar role.
- Minimum O Level or Nitec in Eletrical, Mechanical, Engineering background
- Prefer at least 2 years of experience as a Wireman or similar role.
- Knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment. - Relevant electrical certification or license as required by local regulations.
Additional certifications in specialized electrical systems or safety training are a plus.
