Assistant National Coach play a crucial role in supporting the National Coach in developing and training a high-performance fencing team. Responsible for assisting with daily training sessions, and contributing to the overall success of the team.
1. PLANNING
• Develop, manage for the assigned weapon, in close consultation with the National Coach and Fencing Singapore
• Contribute to the development of the National Team's annual training and competition plan, supporting the National Coach.
• Collaborate with fencers to create comprehensive athlete profiles, aligning individual plans with the team's overall strategy.
• Assist National Coach to set clear performance targets (goals, objectives, and benchmarks) for the weapon squad
• Assist the National Coach, High Performance Manager in planning and managing the National Team's budget for the fiscal year.
2. COACHING
• Assist National Coach Design and oversee National Training Center sessions, and programs are aligned with seasonal targets.
• Plan and implement training camps at various levels to support international success with the National Coach
• Coach the National Team at international team events.
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of conditioning, training, and coaching programs for fencing with National Coach.
• Assist the National Coach in planning and conducting team training and competitions.
• Provide recommendations to the National coach regarding adjustments to strategies and line-ups during competitions.
• Teach technical skills to athletes during team practices and group training sessions.
• Evaluate athlete performance and offer technical, strategic, and mental instruction and advice with National Coach.
3. COMMUNICATION
• Actively participate in High-Performance planning sessions scheduled by the National Coach. These sessions cover annual planning, post-season evaluations, and other essential meetings.
• Provide monthly updates to the High Performance Manager regarding plans, competitions, and National Team results.
• Support National Coaches conduct weekly meetings with High Performance Team for feedback/updates/discussion if any. This is also useful to share tactical advice and analysis for upcoming Major Competitions / Games.
• There should be post-competition debrief between National Coach, before the National Coach files a report. Post competition report should be for all FIE World Cups attended on top of the Major Games.
4. MONITOR AND EVALUATION
• To monitor and track the execution of the training plans in his/her respective weapon group
• To assist National Coach on regular testing for athletes.
• To review National Team goals on a periodic (quarterly) basis with National Coach and make adjustments when necessary.
5. COACHING AND EDUCATION
• Together with National Coach to provide services and expertise to the CoachSG and Fencing Singapore integrated coaching education programs.

• The Assistant National Coach should be reviewed based on the following key performance indicators:
