Job Purpose

The Communications Manager will play a vital role in developing and executing the organization's communication strategies. They will be responsible for managing internal and external communications initiatives, strengthening the brand's presence, and enhancing stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, and a strategic mindset.

What you do

External Communications and Media Relations:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including media outlets, industry influencers, and partners.
  • Identify key messages and target audiences to ensure effective communication campaigns.
  • Develop and execute media relations strategies, including drafting press releases, coordinating interviews, and managing media inquiries.
  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and manage potential reputational risks.

Manage Internal Communications:

  • Develop effective content that is relevant and meaningful for employees.
  • Coordinate and deliver regular updates, newsletters, and announcements to keep employees informed about organizational initiatives, policies, and news.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with company values.

Brand Management:

  • Develop and maintain brand guidelines and communication templates.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to integrate brand messaging and visual identity in campaigns and initiatives.

Crisis Communications:

  • Manage crisis situations effectively, including drafting timely and accurate communications, coordinating media responses, and maintaining stakeholder confidence.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, HR, and executive leadership, to ensure alignment and integration of communication efforts.

What you bring

  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills
  • Experience in media relations, crisis communications, and comms strategy
  • Strong English language skills, both written and spoken. Other language skills relevant to local markets are useful
  • Strong project management skills, ability to multi-task and deliver projects to closure
  • Confident and innovative thinker, demonstrate excellent active listening skills
  • Advanced editorial/ content skills across different platforms – emails, online, video production
  • In-depth knowledge of digital communication channels and emerging communication trends
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • 5-7 years of working experience with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
