The Dental Surgery Assistant prepares a working space in a dental facility for dental examinations and procedures. Job duties include the preparation of dental instruments and materials for the dentist and ensuring they are properly sterilised. He/She also handles administrative tasks, such as scheduling of appointments and filing dental records.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist dental surgeon(s) in all forms of dental treatment,
- Attend to all patients seeking treatments and/or making enquiries at the clinic promptly and courteously,
- Maintain and ensure cleanliness of the clinic and treatment room,
- Maintain dental equipments and instruments in good working condition,
- Discharge patients by dispensing medication, collecting payment and scheduling of next appointment,
- Develop X-ray/OPG for assessment of treatment,
- Send, receive and monitor cases that are sent to the dental laboratory,
- Ensure high standard of infection control.
Requirements
- ‘N’/ ‘O’ Levels or equivalent with basic computer skills,
- Good communication and interpersonal skills,
- Confident, energetic & cheerful personality,
- Customer service oriented,
- Able to handle Chinese speaking patients,
- Not afraid of seeing blood,
- Willing to learn,
- Willing to perform rotating shift work (9am - 6pm & 2pm - 9pm) and working on Saturdays and Sundays,
