Job Scope:
- Under the supervision of the In-Process Technical (IPT) Automation Lead, the Automation Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for automation systems.
- Supports the Automation Lead and Senior Automation Engineer in investigations, finding resolutions to automation problems, and implementing Automation Change Control in compliance with SDLC, GMP, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Supports the IPT Automation Lead by providing expertise, technical knowledge, and advice to IPT/COEs (Centre of Excellence) on computerized/automation systems.
- Performs automation maintenance activities, including system backup, disaster recovery, and obsolescence management, to ensure automation systems remain in a validated state.
- Ensures timely resolution of identified automation issues and unplanned events through daily walk-throughs.
- Escalates ongoing automation issues to the Automation Lead in a timely manner.
- Reviews PMs being performed and looks for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Performs automation change controls under the guidance of the Automation Lead to ensure changes are raised and closed on time and meet the required quality standards.
- Prepares and performs Automation Installation Qualification (AIQ) / Automation Operational Qualification (AOQ), test plans, and documentation, ensuring that documentation meets regulatory standards.
- Develops Automation SOPs, job aids, and procedures.
- Develops and updates Automation training packages and conducts Automation training.
- Provides support for deviation and operation investigations requiring code and system-level troubleshooting.
- Supports a continuous improvement framework within Automation and the IPT, working with Leads to identify and implement improvements.
Requirements:
- Degree in any engineering, IT, or computer field.
- At least 1 year of experience in automation
- Familiar with knowledge of PLC and programming such as VBA or C++
