The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing shipbuilding projects from inception to completion. This role will require exceptional project management skills, extensive knowledge in maritime industry standards, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time, within scope and budgets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Planning & Execution – Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets and resource allocation
- Manage all phases of shipbuilding projects, ensuring milestones are met
- Coordinate with design, engineering, procurement and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution
- Team Leadership – Lead a team of project engineers, supervisors and other technical staff to provide clear direction, support and mentorship to team members. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment
- Client & Stakeholder Management – Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and expectation are met
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors and regulatory authorities
- Regularly provide update to stakeholders on project progress, addressing any issues or changes promptly
- Budget & Cost Control – Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and controlling costs. Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with the project
- Ensure all financial documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Quality Assurance – Implement quality control processes to ensure all work meets industry standards and client specifications. Conduct regular inspections and audits on work progress
- Risk Management – Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor and manage project risks, implementing contingency plans as necessary. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, change orders and financial records
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders
- Ensure all project records are organized and easily accessible
QUALIIFICATIONS
- Experience in newbuilding project for Cable Laying Vessel is MANDATORY
- Bachelor Degree in a related filed
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
- Experience in ISO standards and compliance
