Context

WM Information Services (WMIS) provides IT application development and IT support for eight WM Banks across Europe and Asia. All the Banks are managed by a central IT organization. WMIS operates from Paris, Geneva, Lisbon, Singapore and Chennai.

BNP Paribas WM is going through a major business/IT transformation project with the main objective to reduce its IT costs and converge processes/organization and IT Systems across WM Banks. While not dedicated to this transformation, you will be involved in it as it impacts most of us within WMIS.

Within WMIS, you will join the Strategy & Architecture team.


Position

As a member of the IT Architecture team, you will join a team of Enterprise Architects who look after the Information System.

You will be in charge of defining the architecture principles/guidelines and reviewing projects to make sure they adhere with those rules and the target vision of WM Information System.

You will work closely with Solution Architects that are working on the actual project solutioning, but as well with other transversal teams to make sure our principles are matching the Production capabilities & Cybersecurity topics. You will also work with BNPP Group to review/capture the Group architecture guidelines and the available Group capabilities/platforms.


Main activities:

Contribute to Enterprise Architecture framework by:

  • Evolving principles/guidelines/standards
  • Maintaining our architecture framework (process, functionalities, data, technical, tooling)
  • Follow-up the architecture process (project solutioning validation process)
  • Creating/maintaining Business blueprints (see below)
  • Defining and maintaining architecture templates
  • Communicating on the standards/framework/process

Maintain a subset of WMIS Business Blueprints (architecture reference documentation on a specific functional domain) by:

  • Documenting the existing high level landscape (current state)
  • Defining gaps and target vision (target state)
  • Communicating and training WMIS on it
  • Updating them when major business projects impact it

Support Solution Architects along the project solutioning process by:

  • Answering to their questions
  • Helping with the design if needed
  • Clarifying the principles/guidelines (WMIS or Group)
  • Providing guidance on transversal topics
  • Liaising with Group architects when needed

Review project proposed architecture by:

  • Ensuring that the design process was qualitative and documentation is comprehensive
  • Reviewing their alignment with our principles/target
  • Identifying gaps and propose/review remediation plan
  • Ensuring the reference documentation is updated all along the changes brought by project (application referential, IT architecture diagrams. non-conformities and remediation plans etc.)

Contribute to the IT asset management practice to ensure mastery over the information system
Participate to studies with the business before a project is launched
Contribute to our IT Strategy and make sure it is aligned with the business strategy


Qualifications

Technical and Behavioral Competencies Required

  • Broad technical knowledge and experience across application, development frameworks and technologies
  • Experience of Enterprise Architecture discipline, processes, concepts, and best practices
  • Experience working on a project or in an architecture team covering a large ecosystem of applications (30+)
  • Banking functional/business knowledge and experience, ideally on core banking or portfolio management systems
  • Experience in modeling activities (application maps, software design models, data modeling, infrastructure diagrams, etc.)
  • Experience running Request for Proposal and assessing solutions
  • Strong analysis skills with problem solving attitude
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written documents and oral presentations, explaining concepts clearly to audiences at various levels of technical knowledge
  • Experience on Cloud, integration patterns, high availability patterns, REST API design etc.
  • Effective leadership, planning and organization skills

Technical and Behavioral Competencies Good to have

  • Architecture certification (TOGAF) or Cloud Architect certification (AWS, Azure etc.)
  • Experience in Wealth Management
  • Experience with Java/Spring/Angular, Oracle/PostgreSQL DB
  • Event-driven architecture knowledge/experience
  • SCRUM/Agile experience

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Total of 10+ years of experience in IT
  • 5+ years of experience in IT either as an Enterprise Architect or Solution Architect
  • 5+ years of experience as a Developer or Tech Lead
