Role: Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)
Responsibilities:
- Site Safety Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify potential hazards.
- Documentation: Prepare and submit all necessary safety-related documents, ensuring compliance with WSH Act and regulations.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to the Workplace Safety & Health Act and its subsidiary legislations.
- Subcontractor Collaboration: Conduct joint inspections with subcontractor supervisors to maintain overall site safety.
- Machinery and Equipment: Verify that all machinery and equipment are in safe working order and possess the required certificates.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ensure all workers consistently wear appropriate PPE.
- Safety Communication: Conduct safety talks and briefings to educate and raise awareness among workers.
- Lifting Operations: Supervise all lifting operations to prevent accidents.
- Housekeeping: Maintain proper housekeeping on a daily basis to minimize risks.
- Toolbox Meetings: Conduct daily toolbox meetings to discuss safety concerns and promote a safety culture.
- New Worker Induction: Conduct safety induction programs for new workers to familiarize them with site-specific safety protocols.
- Daily Safety Inspection: Perform daily safety inspections to proactively identify and address hazards.
- OHS Compliance: Ensure that all Quality, Occupational, Health and Safety rules, regulations, and practices are diligently followed.
- Safety Documentation: Prepare all safety documentation and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
Requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 3-4 years of WSHO experience in the Construction industry.
- Skills:Organized and detail-oriented
Effective time management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
