Librarian / Senior Librarian
Our client, a leading institution is looking for Librarian / Senior Librarian to join Digital Library Services team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and provide services to acquire access to print and electronic resources, digital content, and other formats.
- Source, access, select and organize library resources like books, magazines, audiovisual materials, and databases for buying, subscribing, or licensing, renewal, processing, cataloging, and facilitate access.
- Work closely with Schools to manage and organize course readings through the library system.
- Support library collection by managing disposal and replacement, and by recommending and promoting the use of library resources.
- Collaborate with publishers, aggregators, vendors, and other stakeholders to set up platform settings and address any issues related to orders, licenses, subscriptions, invoices, and inventory.
- Handle financial and rights administration related to acquisitions.
- Monitor, analyze, and provide reports on statistics related to access, purchases, and usage of library resources.
- Assist in the development, evaluation and dissemination of library resources' policies, guidelines, procedures, and workflows.
- Provide research assistance and other onsite and online library services and operations as required.
- Create and update online research guides.
- Identify and assess new trends and developments relevant to academic libraries and higher education.
- Manage and/ or involve in library-wide initiatives and projects.
- Participate in continuous professional development and represent the Library and University on internal and external committees as needed.
Requirements:
- Degree in any discipline, preferably in library/ information studies.
- 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient with library management systems (e.g. Alma), finance systems (e.g. SAP), electronic resource management systems and discovery interfaces (e.g. Primo).
- Able to work some evenings and weekends.
- Team player with good interpersonal and problem solving skills.
