- Ensure to know project scope of works and meet the clients needs as per project standard and requirements.
- Supervise and oversee the sequential activities of Structural, Piping & Mechanical Equipment (SMP) Installation such as Receiving, Locating in the lay down, Preservation,Foundation and Structure, Receiving from Main Contractor/Suppliers/Vendors,Pipe Support Installation, Launching, Fitting and Welding of piping, Flange Alignment, Punch Clearing, Reinstatement,Touch up Painting and Hand Over.
- Must have working knowledge of all applicable piping and structure standards and recommended practices, e.g. BS, ASME,ASTM,CSA,API etc.
- Managing project scope and change control with commercial or without commercial impact.
- Development of procedures, flowchart or process flow, detailed calculation based on available Engineering information.
- To procure and requisition materials based on interpret construction and technical drawings.
- Communicate with Engineering/technical/quality requirement to team individuals.
- Project Coordinate with Clients, PMD, Procurement, Engineering, Contract & Finance Departments & Subcontractors and interfaces with other REL' s Business Units.
- Working closely with main contractor and client to ensure the project meets the required needs.
- Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties for SMP scope and other problems that may arise at any time.
- Oversee the Steel Structural Works, Piping and Mechanical while assist and communicate for any prioritise from Pre-Fabrication required (e.g PTREI and Subcontractors)
- Preparation of method of statement, risk assessments for Piping, Mechanical & Steel Structure Scopes.
- Monitoring and installation supervision with Subordinates to deliver the projects in Safety, Quality and Production manners.
- To liaise with clients representative on all project issues and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient delivery of projects to both the company and clients satisfaction.
- Leading the supervisors and foremen in finding and executing solutions to SMP related problems on site.
- Communicating with Project Management Team / QAQC Team to validate and document all changes and highlight to PM for changes that shall involve additional works.
- Assist with the management of internal and external third party interfaces.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical
- Min 3 to 5 years work experience as Mechanical Project Engineer in Oil and Petrochemical Construction Industry
- Experience in project co-ordination with client, engineering and procurement departments
- Experience in co-ordinating with site construction team for installation, testing and commissioning works
- Preferably with overseas experience
