Job Purpose
To maximize sales productivity while nurturing, developing, and motivating a strong Sales Specialist team and creating a memorable and pleasant customer shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support Store Manager to manage the store to fulfill the sales target & promote the brand:
- Manages the store team to maximize sales and profit performance.
- Establish weekly sales goals for the team, with specific personal goals by Sales Specialist including the monitoring and maintenance of clientele books, encouraging multiple selling and providing and demonstrating selling techniques and reviewing incentive updates.
- Establishes and monitors all store standards and works with the Operations Manager and Floor Manager to ensure successful implementation.
- Responsible for achieving store shrinkage goals and for the establishment and implementation of both new and existing Asset Protection procedures (in conjunction with the Asset Protection team).
2. Maintains a welcoming environment that generates customer traffic and builds loyalty by exceeding customer’s expectations. This will include:
- Coaching and mentoring store team to implement initiatives that support exceptional customer service standards.
- Identifying potential improvements in store operations and merchandise flow to maximize their store’s performance and communicating these management.
3. Provides continual feedback to Merchandising team for the purpose of:
- Identifying items and merchandise classifications of high sales and profit potential.
- Communicating special requirements relating to customer needs or competition.
- Assuring the maintenance of appropriate and balanced inventory levels.
4. Understands and places a high priority in providing input to both the Merchandising team, Product Presentation & Creative Presentation team in regard to merchandise presentation and maintenance of an in-store environment, consistent with the company desired image and character.
- Actively provides guidance and direction in the implementation and execution of internal fixtures and merchandise presentation practices.
- Partner with the creative team to review store merchandise layouts with a view toward attaining maximum sales within each merchandise classification.
- Responsible for assuring adequate store maintenance and housekeeping.
5. Directly responsible for the supervision and development of store staff capable of meeting sales, margin, expense as well as merchandising standards, operating objectives and customer service initiatives.
- Establishes sales and performance criteria.
- Creates programs to motivate personnel to build unit sales and volume of transactions.
- Directs the orientation and on the job training of all new store management personnel through coaching and mentoring.
- Manages and evaluates the implementation and execution of customer service activities and policies.
- Monitors the development of client books to ensure expansion of the existing customer base.
- Handles unresolved, unusual or controversial customer problems beyond Managers’ abilities.
- Accountable for the management of the sales team.
- Consistently succession planning for current and future positions.
6. Responsible for the ongoing evaluation, development and training of the store teams.
- Evaluates team performance both quarterly and annually.
- Identifies areas of need and assures the formulation of suitable development programs.
- Partner with Training Manager to provide guidance and direction in the training and coaching of staff.
- Follows through at store level to ensure proper implementation of agreed-upon training programs.
7. Directs the execution of promotional strategies and programs, assuring that they support sales, marketing and profit objectives.
