Contract Period: From 1 JAN 2025 to 31 DEC 2025 with an option to extend the Contract for a further period of 1 year
Working hours:
*Mondays to Thursdays : 7.15am to 4.15pm, inclusive of half hour lunch break.
*Fridays: 7.15am to 3.45pm, inclusive of half hour lunch break.
*Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays.
Scope of Services:
To assist the Nutrition and Food Science (NFS) teachers in their daily teaching and learning as well as to provide logistical support for the school’s signature Applied Learning Programmes (ALP). Duties include assisting the NFS and ALP teachers for the following:
(a) Preparation of materials for cookery lessons, practicals, assessments and applied learning programmes.
(b) Daily maintenance, cleaning and sanitising of the two cookery rooms with high levels of cleanliness, hygiene and safety and security.
(c) Two cookery rooms must be cleaned and tidied after every session. Also to ensure the preparation room and 1 container cabin be in a high state of cleanliness, hygiene and safety and security.
(d) Provide update of perishables and dry goods to teachers ordering for the classes.
(e) Maintain and update of all inventories of kitchen equipment and utensils to teachers.
(f) Filing and compilation of all documents in the cookery rooms.
(g) Perform any duties as assigned by the Craft and Tech department or school.
Qualification, Skill & Experience:
(a) Understanding of Basic English
(b) At least 3 years experience as a Food & Nutrition Kitchen Assistant
(c) Important - The candidate should preferably be able to:
- have good interpersonal skills to work well with teachers and students.
- be a good team player.
- guide students patiently.
- be meticulous in stock taking and cleaning.
- Prepare, cook local dishes and bake pastries independently.
- climb 4 floors of steps daily. (Cookery rooms are on 4th floor. School has no lift until 2026).
