- Conducts survey on project site and proposes construction methodology including subcontracting strategy, equipment/ manpower routing and logistical planning to prepare construction execution and expediting plan
- Prepares scheduling documents, procedures and method statement for construction related activities including setting up the construction planning documentation for tender and project execution stage
- Responsible to prepare construction manpower and equipment planning (i.e. direct and indirect manning) including cost and formulates resource estimation for construction management
- Develops and maintains detailed EPC/ EPCm preliminary stage schedules for EPCC projects for tender stage, incorporating several scenarios to finalize various aspects of EPCC sequencing and contracting plans
- Liaises with third-parties(i.e. design consultants, construction management consultants, contractors) to obtain the latest schedules in the appropriate programmed format for each phase (i.e. planning, design, bid/award, construction, start-up)
- Develops creative reporting tools (i.e. Gantt charts, activity network diagrams and etc.) to communicate complex project sequencing and/ or progress assessments
- Conducts constructability study/ workshop for heavy and critical equipment transportation/erection/installation with tender project team members, commercial, procurement and etc. at the appraisal and proposal stage
- Performs project performance analysis including earned value through the analysis of man-hour resources including productivity of third parties, equipment resources and cost loaded to monitor construction expenses/cost against planning
- Leads project meetings with project team members and relevant stakeholders subcontractors to review on the project completion status against an established baseline
- Reviews construction requisition prepared by engineering discipline and troubleshoots bottle neck between construction and engineering project team members in order to achieve target schedule
- Maintains simplified logic schedules, implementing critical float path analysis to determine problem areas and alert the project team to critical scheduling issues
- Coordinates and validates schedules with cross functional team members and third party schedulers to update any changes to the master schedule to provide accurate reporting to the relevant stakeholders
- Provides progress reporting, developing/updating progress curves, documents and briefing materials as required to assess progress and measurement and promptly reports on schedule slippage/ variances
- Works with other project management team members as required to achieve functional objectives and deadlines
- Provides support in various projects as required to promote cross-functional learning and development, balance team workload and enhance overall team productivity
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Marine/ Engineering/ Electrical/ Mechanical, or related disciplines
- At least 3 to 5 years of working experience in construction planning in marine/ offshore related industry
- Experience with design-build and construction management at risk delivery methods
- Excellent proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office products and project management software programmes (i.e.Microsoft Office Suite, Primavera Project Planner Version 6.0 or higher and etc.)
- Good working knowledge of all phases of construction including work commonly done by the various construction disciplines
- Good knowledge and experience scheduling the design and construction of large-scale, complex projects
- Good knowledge and experience in developing and managing a progress reporting methodology for a complicated design effort
- Ability to understand a demanding, technical and complicated construction program
- Good knowledge of construction trades, work breakdown structure and the logical sequence of activities to optimize project schedule
