They must perform physical inventory audits, adjust inventory records, and investigate discrepancies. The Inventory Accountant must also ensure adherence to inventory policies and procedures, and coordinate with internal departments to ensure accurate data. This position requires excellent organizational and analytical skills, as well as proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
Inventory Accountant Duties
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions
- Develop and maintain inventory control systems
- Perform periodic physical inventories and cycle counts
- Analyze inventory data and recommend solutions for inventory optimization
- Create and maintain financial records and reports related to inventory
