The General Manager / Deputy General Manager leads and develops a team with operational responsibilities to ensure that the organisation achieves its business objectives. He/She is responsible for formulating long-term business strategies to achieve profitable revenue growth. He/She directs the preparation of operating budgets and proposals for capital expenditure and investments in infrastructure, technology, equipment, systems, and other assets and resources.
He/She applies strategic thinking and people management skills to manage key business relationships as well as ensuring proper implementation of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards across the business verticals.
Purpose of the Job
- Expand and grow UnionPay Issuing and Acquiring Business in respective country.
- Source for and work with prospective local partners to issue and acquire UnionPay Cards.
- Promote brand awareness of UnionPay Card with Partner Bank/Non-banks. (This should be more of a marketing and branding department area)
- Work with partners to identify opportunities to promote new UnionPay products and services.
- Manage the relationships with new and existing partners. Have a good understanding of the competitive environment.
- Coach and lead the country team towards achieving the targets set by management.
- In charge of office routine duties.
- In charge of office operation expense claim.
Academic qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
Experience:
- 10-20 years relevant experience in Business Development, preferably in the area of cards and/or payments industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
