Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed structural designs and plans using software tools and engineering principles to ensure safety, stability, and functionality of structures.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to understand existing conditions and potential structural issues, and to gather data for design and analysis.
- Ensure that designs and construction practices comply with local, state, and national building codes, regulations, and standards.
- Work closely with architects, civil engineers, and other professionals to integrate structural designs with architectural and engineering plans.
- Perform complex calculations to determine loads, stresses, and other critical factors affecting structural performance and stability.
- Prepare and review detailed engineering reports, drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation to communicate design intent and requirements.
- Oversee and manage structural aspects of construction projects, including coordinating with contractors, reviewing progress, and ensuring adherence to design specifications.
- Address and resolve any structural issues or challenges that arise during the design or construction phases, providing practical and innovative solutions.
- Select appropriate construction materials and assess their performance and suitability for specific structural applications.
- Implement safety measures and conduct risk assessments to minimize potential hazards during construction and ensure long-term structural integrity.
Requirements:
- Min Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Min 3 -5 years of experience as a Design Engineer in a construction or healthcare projects
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and structural design software (ETABS, SAP2000).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise confidently with stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and capable of producing accurate work under tight deadlines.
- Willing to relocate to Hong Kong during project duration
