Responsibilities:
- To underwrite and develop Non-Life treaty and facultative reinsurance business emanating from Asia.
- Responsible for the development of underwriting strategies by lines of business and markets to enhance the growth and profitability of the portfolio.
- Manage natural catastrophe accumulation control for assigned markets.
- Profitably grow the treaty and facultative portfolio by steering it according to defined strategies to achieve optimum portfolio
- Play an active role in the development of underwriting guidelines and procedures.
- Pursue the strict adherence to achieving high underwriting standards by ensuring strong quality control and adopting best practices.
- Develop line of business and client strategies, business planning and market initiatives.
- Acquisition of new business and active management of client and broker relationships.
- Undertake independent treaty and facultative negotiations with clients and brokers.
- In-line with the responsibilities of the position, to undertake regional business travels for business development as well as client / broker relationship management activities.
- To increase the presence, visibility and brand value of the organization in Asia.
- Implementation of the full understanding of clients’ value chains towards developing new business solutions including value added services e.g. technical training needs of clients.
Requirements:
- University Degree holder preferably in Business or Economics
- Min 5 years of experience in reinsurance underwriting
- Well versed in both Facultative and Excess of Loss and Proportional treaty reinsurance.
- Prior knowledge and experience working with treaty reinsurance pricing tools.
- Regional market knowledge and experience in Asia.
- Possess strong and long standing relationships with clients and brokers in Asia.
- Working experience and regional exposure with multi-national reinsurers will be an advantage.
- Experience in being a member of project teams and working groups to address technical issues.
- Expert knowledge in property treaty and working knowledge in other lines of business.
- Excellent command of English in both written and verbal communications.
- Excellent inter-personal, presentation and negotiation skills with a high level of motivation.
- A proven strong team player.
