To assist investigators in performing bench work experiments for PI initiated research projects.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform bench work research using DNA, RNA and protein based molecular techniques in accordance to prescribed work procedures. This include DNA extraction from patients’ samples, ELISA assay etc.
- Systematic filing and maintenance of work procedures and research results
- Maintain and track stock level of lab equipment and supplies
- Regularly check and ensure specimens are stored at correct temperature to ensure proper storage
- Ensure that bio-hazardous materials are disposed safely in accordance to hospital regulations
- Maintain and ensure a clean and safe lab environment and workplace
- Participate in department’s education program / Journal Club
- Assist investigators in simple administrative reports
- Recruit research participants and collect data
- Maintain study database
JOB REQUIREMENTS
(A) EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Diploma in Life Sciences, or any other relevant disciplines.
- Experience with lab experiments and techniques preferred.
