MANAGING DIRECTOR

Nx Shoji (singapore) Pte. Ltd.

Our company is a well-known and established Japanese MNC in the trading and distribution Industry. We are urgently seeking suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of MANAGING DIRECTOR.


JOB DESCRIPTION

· Implement the strategic goals and objectives of the organisation and give direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organisation’s philosophy, mission, strategy, and its annual goals and objectives.

· Review activity reports and financial statements of respective departments to determine progress and status in attaining objectives.

· Revise objectives and plans of each department in accordance with current conditions to determine changes in programs or operations required.

· Maintains a commitment to the company vision and the “spirit” of the organisation.

· Directs and coordinates promotion of products or services performed to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry.

· Plan, develop, and implement strategies for generating resources and revenues for the company.

· Oversee company-wide operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.

· Approve company operational procedures, policies, and standards.

· Direct company planning and policy-making committees.

· Analyses company budgets request to identify areas in which reductions can be made, and allocates operating budget.

· Communicates clearly and directly with Branch General Managers concerning performance expectations, productivity, and accountability.

· Develops employees for future advancement when possible.

· Evaluate performance of Managers for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions in attaining objectives.

· Ensure that the Company and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.

· Maintain and enhance the human resources capability of the Company, by continuously ensuring that high quality and effective management are in place and that the organisation has the open communications, flexibility and change management skills to respond to and take advantage of business opportunities and requirements.

· Support operations and administration of Board by advising and informing Board members, interfacing between Board and staff.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Familiarity with standard office applications e.g. Microsoft & SAP or ERP systems
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures
  • Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources
  • Ability to identify and secure funding/revenue sources
  • Ability to analyse and interpret financial data
  • Knowledge of public relations principles and practices
  • Knowledge of communication and public relation techniques
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Work effectively with a wide range of people at all levels
  • Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.


PREFERED REQUIREMENTS


· Degree in Business Management equivalent.

· Proficiency in Japanese languages (speaking/reading/writing) to communicate with the management of our business partners and group companies in Japan.

· Working experience minimum 15 years in Japan

· Interest in Japanese culture and customs

· 10 plus years of progressive industry experience covering key aspects of the business and in particular the responsibility for the overall control and development of a major segment of the Company’s operations.
