Legal Counsel, Commodity Trading
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal services to the company by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide array of commercial agreements
- Offer direct legal assistance to subsidiary companies, ensuring compliance and oversight
- Support the company’s investment strategies by handling legal aspects of project financing and development
- Lead the resolution of legal disputes, focusing on minimizing risk and exposure in matters related to trade and demurrage disputes.
- Enhance company-wide understanding of legal standards through the development and delivery of training sessions focused on legal compliance and risk management.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a law degree from an accredited institution and ideally be admitted to practice in Singapore or another common law jurisdiction.
- Requires a minimum of five years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or corporate setting, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in the energy sector.
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese is required to effectively handle the company’s diverse contracts and stakeholder communications in two languages.
