Legal Counsel (Global Manufacturer - Regional Sales Division)
The Legal Counsel will manage all legal and compliance matters, providing commercial legal advice to stakeholders and employees. Success in this role requires navigating competing business issues to deliver relevant and astute legal guidance.
Responsibilities
Legal Duties:
- Provide advice on various laws, including corporate, commercial, employment, competition, intellectual property, privacy, litigation, anti-corruption, and consumer protection.
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements such as Sales/Distribution, Procurement, Sponsorship, Consulting, and License Agreements.
- Review marketing materials and advertisements.
- Manage legal and compliance processes and systems.
- Oversee legal disputes and litigation, including coordination with external counsel.
- Offer legal advice to Headquarters (HQ) as needed.
Compliance Duties:
- Administer the company’s compliance program, including:
- General program administration.
- Conducting employee compliance training.
- Preparing and distributing compliance messaging and educational materials.
- Maintaining compliance program records.
- Liaising with HQ on compliance requirements.
- Update and implement business policies to ensure compliance with Singapore laws.
- Monitor legal developments and trends.
Requirements
- A law degree is required, along with at least 5 years of Post-Qualified Experience (PQE) concentrated in corporate/commercial law and contract negotiations, preferably obtained within a law firm.
- Admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore or a common law jurisdiction.
