CLASS 1 STEAM BOILER ATTENDANT

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Class 1 Steam Boiler Attendant to ensure the efficient operation of our natural gas boilers in a food manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining seamless steam supply to production while adhering to safety regulations and operational standards.


Key Job Role & Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor steam boilers, ensuring optimal feed water levels and appropriate salt/chemical treatment for safe operation.
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing of water samples to ensure safety and efficiency, documenting findings as required.
  • Monitor steam pressure, temperature, and water levels to maintain stable operating conditions and uninterrupted steam supply.
  • Analyse and report on steam operations data and boiler performance, ensuring compliance with emission standards and process parameters.
  • Perform regular inspections of steam lines and associated equipment to maintain safe operating conditions, recommending improvements for efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Manage air compressors and other utility supplies and services as necessary.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety regulations at all times.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the department or site manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Certified and licensed as a Class 1 Boiler Attendant / Steam Engineer (1 or 2).
  • Minimum GCE “N” / “O” Level education or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience managing 15-ton capacity steam boilers.
  • Mechanical fitting and welding skills, along with relevant safety certifications, are advantageous.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends.

Location: Boon Lay


Shift: 8-hour rotating shifts and up to 12-hour per shift, subject to operational requirements; Any excess hour(s) worked above the 44-hour work week will be paid based on the standard OT rate.


Salary: Up to SGD3,200 (subject to relevant experiences)
