The primary role of the Head of Finance, Singapore Branch (“Role”) is to provide a single point of contact for Accounting, Regulatory, Controlling and Tax related issues of the Singapore branch for Senior Management and external Regulatory, Supervisory, Audit and similar entities.
This Role is part of the CFO organization of UniCredit Bank GmbH (“Bank”). The CFO organization consists of Planning, Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, Product Control functions amongst others.
The holder of the Role participates and coordinates the various activities of the CFO organization (“CFO”) to ensure an efficient, adequately controlled platform for financial management and reporting. This is achieved by direct management of Accounting, Controlling and oversight of Tax functions in strict coordination with the Tax function in our Munich head office (“Head Office”) who has the functional responsibility for Tax. Specifically:
- Effective liaison with Singapore branch (“Branch”) management, to ensure an optimal level of service is delivered and that adequate co-operation is received from other departments in the Branch
- Has responsibility for Planning, Finance and Accounting activities of the Branch, in cooperation with the relevant hierarchical heads in Head Office; ensuring compliance with respective control systems.
- Maintain a close link to the local Financial Authorities for all CFO related matters and ensure all CFO units meet Compliance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for Accounting and Controlling functions of the Branch.
- Effective coordination with global Tax function in Head Office which retains the overall bank-wide responsibility over the submission of tax returns and all tax related matters.
- Maintain a solid liaison and frequent contacts with the respective CFO functions of the Bank, to ensure coordination and alignment of the Branch’s processes with Head Office.
- Ensure effective cooperation with Internal/External auditors
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Membership of the Branch Management Committee and sub-committees as appropriate.
- Ensure that sound accounting records are maintained, also in coordination with the relevant Head Office function for guidance and advice.
- Part of Accounting duties is the preparation of the yearly financial package and relationship with external Auditors for its finalization.
- Ensure payables processing, including invoices settlement and booking, as well as GST processing.
- Preparation and timely submission of regulatory returns to local monetary and regulatory Authorities as appropriate.
- Liaison with the Branch’s auditors and financial advisors to ensure that the Branch meet their legal and Tax obligations, liaising with Tax function in the Head Office.
- "Campaign Leader" for Law262 reporting for the Branch (if required).
- Active participation to all UniCredit Group projects and initiatives which involve the Branch or projects requested by the CFO in the Head Office.

Job Specification / Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field with CPA, CMA or CFA preferred
- At least 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
- Proven experience as a Head of Finance or similar management role within the banking industry
- Sound knowledge of IFRS
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and reporting standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially EXCEL and sound knowledge of Accounting and Financial tools
- Stay relevant on tax and account standards developments
- Knowledge of SAP, Bank Fusion Midas and StorQM is a value-add
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
