About the role
A Resident Technical Officer (RTO) working for Land Transport Authority (LTA) in Singapore plays a crucial role in overseeing current construction projects under LTA. Overall, the role of an RTO working for LTA is to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of construction projects, while upholding high standards of quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conducting on-site inspections to monitor construction progress and quality of work.
- Ensuring that construction activities adhere to safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reviewing and approving construction drawings, materials, and method statements.
- Coordinating with QPS team, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any technical issues that may arise during the project.
- Keeping detailed records of site activities, including daily reports, progress updates, and quality control measures.
- Review and check all the drawings, specifications, and to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the approved plans/drawings.
- Providing technical support and guidance to the project team to ensure successful project delivery.
- Highlight discrepancies, feedback site progress and non-conformances/irregularities to QPS team.
- Collaborating with relevant authorities and agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits for construction activities.
- Participating in site meetings, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Ensuring that all construction works are carried out in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and contractual agreements.
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Relevant experience in construction supervision, preferably in civil engineering projects.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
- Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with contractors and other stakeholders.
- Certification as a Resident Technical Officer (RTO) by BCA/IES/ACES.
- Willingness to work on-site, including irregular hours and weekends if required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with LTA projects, particularly in MRT Viaduct/ station/ Underground/Tunnelling works would be an added advantage.
- Singaporean citizenship/ Singapore Permanent Resident or valid work pass holders for foreign nationals.
