Key Responsibilities:
- Engage customers professionally and effectively in understanding their requirements and needs from a technical infrastructure point-of-view. Evaluate the needs, design and propose winning solutions.
- Collaborate with sales team to build strong relationships supporting customers to identify business opportunities, participate in forecasting, pipeline and market analysis.
- Monitor and evaluate trends in prospect and target customer base
- Make an impact across multiple functions as you collaborate, act as the communications hub , driving decisions and consensus with cross-functional internal teams including but not limited to sales, design, construction, critical operation, and asset management teams to deliver solutions to customer.
- To lead, prepare, and submit quality solution proposal based on RFP documents received from customer and ensure compliance to technical requirements and specifications.
- To analyse customer technical requirements and make comparison with market trends for optimised solution.
- Establish internal project briefs based on agreed solution with the customer.
- Collaborate with design and construction on the project procurement and contracting strategy, long-lead equipment procurement buy-out, analyse project risks and develop project timelines.
- Consolidate inputs, prepare and submit reports to Management and Group for approval.
- Manage and organise design review meetings between customer and internal stakeholders to finalise the design solution for implementation.
- Collaborate with design and construction to identify and establish overall project delivery schedule for project implementation to meet customer timeline.
- To provide constructive feedback to internal teams as and when observed for improvement.
- Manage assigned accounts and provide backup coverage for the team.
- Act as a single point-of-contact for the customer on executive escalations or issues independently.
- Other duties as and when necessary, associated with the role.
Requirements
- Possess a bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years working experience. Candidates with experience working in design consultancy firm and have worked through a construction project life cycle from design until obtaining building permit for occupation is preferred.
- Experience working with a data centre or colocation provider in a customer-facing engineering functions is preferred
- Working experience or good knowledge in data centre design and power & cooling systems requirements including testing and commissioning activities (i.e. FAT, SAT, IST).
- Ability to work directly with Senior Management and manage within a matrix organization.
- Resourceful team player with a genuine enthusiasm for providing excellent support to internal and external customers.
- Experienced with fast-paced large volume, dynamic, complex, international operations.
- Able to develop comprehensive and concise management reports.
- Possess drive, tenacity and willingness to learn
- Willing to walk the ground to verify the field progress and engage staffs.
- Excellent communication skills (written & oral).
- Proficient in MS Office applications, Visio and AutoCAD is a plus
- Ability to travel for short business trip within Southeast Asia countries.
- Familiar with fire and building codes in Singapore or the surrounding region and relevant international standards used in data centre industry
