HEAD OF RISK MANAGEMENT
We are seeking a suitable and qualified candidate to fill the position of Head of Risk Management. This position will report directly to the Deputy General Manager of the Bank.
As the Head of Risk Management Department, the incumbent will be responsible for formulating and implementing policies and procedures for the monitoring of the risk position of the bank’s treasury operations. He will also be required to evaluate the performance of the Treasury Department, ensure compliance with Head Office limits and guidelines, and timely submission of regulatory reporting for market related transactions and data.
The incumbent will also be responsible for managing the financial and accounting functions including statutory reporting and ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Banking Act, MAS Directives and Notices, Companies Act etc and internal policies and procedures. He will provide support to senior management to prepare the business plan, monitor the progress of the plan and report the business performance. The person will be in-charge of all financial accounting matters of the company including monitoring and reporting the branch performance branch management and Head office.
The incumbent will act as a liaison between Head Office relevant departments and the branch from time to time in order to interpret and apply HO policies and rules to the branch, and co-ordinate necessary works and operation within the branch. The person will liaise with supervisory authorities and internal/external auditors on all matters relating to Treasury Risk Management and Accounts functions. The person will be responsible for Risk Assessment Exercise of the department’s area of responsibility, including detail analysis of potential risks in department’s operation and development of policies/procedures to mitigate such risks.
Applicants should possess a degree in Business Administration, Economics or Accountancy with more than 10 years’ experience in similar capacity in a corporate banking environment. The nature of the job will require the person to be familiar with risk management processes, the Japanese GAAP and business processes and have a good understanding of the working culture of Japanese organization. High proficiency in the Japanese Language, both spoken and written is essential for this role. Candidates should be highly analytical and possess strong leadership qualities, communication and interpersonal skills. Overseas travel may be required on an ad-hoc basis.
Remuneration will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
