Option to Extend: 12 months, at the School’s discretion.
Working Hours:
- Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 5:00pm (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
- Fridays: 7:30am to 4:30pm (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
- Flexibility required to accommodate school programmes (including overnight stay for camps).
- Off-in-lieu will be provided for duties performed on weekends.
Objective:
The Outdoor Education Coordinator will support the school’s Learning for Life Programme (LLP) by facilitating outdoor education programmes and managing the Outdoor Adventure Facilities (OAF).
Key Responsibilities:
- Programme Facilitation: Assist in the coordination and execution of outdoor education programmes for students.
- Safety Management: Act as the Safety Instructor during outdoor activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Facility Management: Oversee the use, inspection, and maintenance of the school’s Outdoor Adventure Facilities (OAF) by both internal and external users.
- Programme Support: Work closely with the Outdoor Education Department to ensure smooth execution of events and programmes.
- Maintenance Oversight: Conduct regular inspections of OAF and coordinate necessary repairs.
- Student Engagement: Motivate and inspire students through outdoor activities, fostering leadership and team-building skills.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in outdoor education or adventure activities.
- Education: Diploma in Outdoor and Adventure Education or equivalent.
- Certifications:Valid Challenge Course Instructor Level 1 Certification (or equivalent).
Valid First Aid & AED Certification. - Knowledge: Expertise in maintaining outdoor adventure facilities and safety protocols for adventure activities.
- Personal Attributes:Strong leadership and motivational skills, especially when working with students.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Passionate about outdoor education and student development.
