Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Assistant Warehouse\Warehouse Manager to lead our FMCG warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient management of all warehouse activities, from receiving and storing goods to dispatching orders, with a focus on maintaining inventory accuracy and implementing best practices. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to optimize workflows in a fast-paced environment, ensuring compliance with workplace safety & standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations Management:
- Oversee and actively participate in daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching of goods.
- Manage the loading and unloading of containers, ensuring goods are handled efficiently and safely.
- Maintain accurate stock records and inventory control through regular cycle counts and audits.
- Conduct physical counts and reconcile stocks in the ERP system to ensure data accuracy.
- Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive warehouse efficiency and productivity.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead and supervise a team of warehouse staff, providing hands-on support and guidance as needed.
- Train, schedule, and manage warehouse staff performance, ensuring optimal team efficiency.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and adherence to company standards.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with WSH (Workplace, Safety & Health) regulations in all warehouse activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse, promoting safety protocols and practices.
- Implement proper handling and storage of FMCG products, particularly those requiring special conditions.
Inventory and Stock Control:
- Actively manage stock levels, conducting regular physical counts and reconciling stock data in the ERP system.
- Implement inventory control procedures to reduce waste and avoid stock discrepancies.
- Work closely with procurement and sales teams to forecast and manage stock levels in line with demand.
Logistics and Distribution:
- Coordinate with logistics and transportation teams to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective deliveries.
- Manage the scheduling of container arrivals and departures, ensuring a smooth flow of goods.
- Resolve delivery-related issues to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Optimize warehouse layout and distribution processes for better flow and efficiency.
Loading and Unloading Containers:
- Oversee and participate in the loading and unloading of goods from shipping containers, ensuring items are handled carefully and stored appropriately.
- Ensure all container operations are conducted safely and efficiently, with adherence to company and legal standards.
- Monitor container schedules to minimize bottlenecks and delays in warehouse operations.
Continuous Improvement:
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency and reduce costs.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems to optimize inventory and operational workflows.
- Ensure proper 5S housekeeping in the warehouse and that all goods are secured and safeguarded against damages and thefts.
- Analyze data and generate reports on warehouse performance to inform decision-making.
- Plan and implement new layout designs to meet storage requirements and that the new layouts are in compliance with Singapore’s fire and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Warehouse Manager, preferably within the FMCG or distribution sectors.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Hands-on experience in warehouse operations, including receiving, dispatching, and inventory control.
- Experience in managing the loading and unloading of containers is essential.
- Leadership skills with experience managing and motivating warehouse teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant warehouse software.
- Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred but not required).
