Our client, a European-based Commodity Trading firm, is actively expanding its presence in the APAC region, particularly in Singapore, Japan, and Australia. They are looking for an experienced Finance Manager with fluency in Japanese to take on a strategic leadership role in supporting the firm’s financial growth and operations across APAC.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to leverage your financial acumen and play a key role in shaping the company’s direction, with exposure to cutting-edge technologies such as Machine Learning and AI in their trading platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial operations for the APAC region, ensuring accuracy in P&L reconciliation for all trading activities.
- Manage Accounts Payable/Receivable functions, ensuring seamless and timely settlement of transactions.
- Collaborate with both local and European teams, ensuring trade data is registered and verified accurately.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize financial workflows and enhance efficiency.
- Oversee monthly and annual closings, audits, and tax compliance in coordination with regional and global stakeholders,
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field, with 8 to 15 years of finance experience, preferably within a global or regional setup.
- Fluent Japanese and English language skills are essential.
- Must be a Singaporean citizen or permanent resident.
- Experience with SQL and IFRS is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
