Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Import shipping team by planning and implementing strategies and initiatives to ensure continuous improvement in both service and transit time performance.
- Work together with the Export Shipping Manager to set the shipping department’s KPIs.
- Train and improve quality of work produced by the Import shipping team.
- Vendor management with contractors/hauliers/transporter and all business-related vendors and negotiate best freight rates offered.
- Working closely with new/existing customers to develop and provide feasible logistics solutions.
- Manage escalation of enquiries, complaints, and dispute from customers and/or shipping lines and shipment-related internal communication.
- Handle daily operations and transactions in the forwarding area.
- Preparation and managing of sales contracts, forecasts, and reports, analysing of all reports.
- Plan and monitor shipment activities.
- Ensure that team members accuracy in the full sets of shipping document (Letter of Credit, invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, customers’ required certificates, insurance policy, beneficiary’s certificate, bank draft, bank schedule and other required document) and ensure they are legalized.
- Sales Contract and work order issuance.
- Verifying P&L on charges and costs.
- Lead and manage ISO9001 records.
- Liaising with quality team and/or relevant statutory authorities for inspections.
- Perform ad-hoc duties/tasks as assigned by the Company.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing/Supply Chain / Logistics or equivalent related qualification
- Min 7 years of relevant managerial experience in manufacturing or relevant industry
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications and other relevant software (eg. Navision)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- A dynamic team leader with a positive working attitude. Able to organize and lead a small team to attain business excellence
