Key Responsibilities:
● Daily Payment Operations:
○ Perform pre-processing validations for transactions submitted outside the system
to ensure accuracy and completeness before processing.
○ Perform daily payment operations, including inward/outward remittances,
interbank domestic transfers, and internal fund transfers.
○ Perform end-of-day transactions reconciliation and liaise with corresponding bank
and/or customers on discrepancy, delay or non-receipt of funds.
○ Conduct investigations to resolve payment-related issues promptly and efficiently.
○ Prepare ad-hoc and monthly reports for Head Office, regulatory or internal
reporting.
● Nostro Account Reconciliation
○ Perform daily reconciliation of nostro accounts to ensure accuracy and
completeness.
○ Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner to prevent operational
delays.
○ Generate accurate and timely reports on breaks and resolutions for management
review.
● Risk Management and Controls:
○ Maintain a risk-averse approach and sensitivity to risks inherent in payment
processing.
○ Adhere to internal controls and procedures to mitigate operational and
compliance risks.
○ Ensure all payment transactions adhere to regulatory requirements.
● System Development Projects:
○ Support the implementation of system enhancements such as ISO20022 and
regulatory projects.
○ Design and establish processing workflows and reporting mechanisms.
○ Assist in user requirement collection for system development projects.
○ Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support system migration and
development efforts.
Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
● Minimum 5 years of experience in payment operations within the banking or financial
services industry.
● Strong understanding of cross-border payments, SWIFT messaging, and remittance
procedures.
● Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially excel formulas, pivot table, charts
● Able to work independently when under pressure with high volume transactions and
currencies cutoff time.
● Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to payment transactions (e.g.,
AML/KYC).
● Experience with system enhancements and development projects.
● Strong senses of risk control and management.
● Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
● Knowledge of Six Sigma process improvement methodologies and/or experience
leveraging analytics for decision-making is advantageous.
