· Supervise and control the maintenance request system
· Monitor and maintain records relating to utility costs throughout the hotel
· Perform general repairs and maintenance to all plant and equipment based on skill and experience level
· Carry out general room inspection, preventive maintenance inspections and repairs including scheduling of these works
· Supervise contractors with the Fire Protection Preventive Maintenance program
· Ensure proper records are kept relating to all plant and equipment for the hotel
· Supervise the daily operation and maintenance of buildings, electrical and mechanical services, water features, fixtures, furnishing and equipment
· Liaise and supervise Property Maintenance contractors onsite and ensure appropriate standards are met
· Maintain all workshop tools and equipment for the running of workshop’s trades and functions
· Ensure that workshop has adequate stock and materials in stores and that workshop is clean and safe
· Ensure that all team members comply with grooming and uniform standards
· Prepare work schedules and annual leave schedules within budget, business expectations and guidelines
· Conduct regular team member meetings to keep all fully informed
· Ensure compliance with local legislated workplace health and safety requirements
· Responsible for the cleanliness of plant and mechanical equipment rooms
· Ensure all requests for maintenance are carried out within an acceptable time frame
Encourage multi skilling of the engineering team members, thereby improving productivity and team diversity
