The senior accountant manages the full accounting functions of our newly established manufacturing operations. The individual in this role will hold an ACCA qualification and must have 4 years of experience in cost accounting within the high-mix, low-volume manufacturing sector. This role will involve managing financial records, preparing reports, analysing manufacturing cost variances, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, particularly those applicable in Singapore.
Role and Responsibilities:
Full Account Management:
- Oversee all aspects of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for manufacturing operations.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all financial reports and statements.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage the annual budget, including forecasting and variance analysis.
- Monitor and analyze budget performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Assist in the preparation of long-term financial plans and projections.
Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure compliance with Singapore financial regulations and reporting requirements, including those set by the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA).
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
Cost Management:
- Analyze manufacturing costs and variances, providing recommendations for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Oversee inventory accounting and valuation, ensuring accurate reporting of inventory levels and costs.
- Monitor and manage capital expenditures and fixed asset accounting.
Taxation:
- Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with Singapore tax regulations.
- Manage tax planning and compliance activities, minimizing tax liabilities and risks.
- Liaise with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) and external tax advisors as needed.
Skills and Experiences:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations, including IFRS and SFRS.
- Familiarity with ACRA and IRAS requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ACCA qualification is required.
- A minimum of 4 years of accounting experience and an understanding of the high-mix, low-volume manufacturing industry are required.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken
