Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 4:30pm,
Fridays: 7:30am to 1:30pm (no lunch break)
Contract Period: 1 Jan 2025 to 31 Dec 2025
Job Description:
- Be in the Teacher’s Preparation Room and food laboratories during working hours
- Ordering of food ingredients.
- Preparation of ingredients before lessons, ensuring food is prepared and handled safely
- Maintaining cleanliness of utensils, equipment and food lab areas
- Handling inventory and stock-taking of resources e.g. books, utensils and equipment.
- Assisting the teacher during practical sessions e.g. ensuring that students observe safety rules, guiding students in preparation skills
- Administration – Checking and filing of invoices and keeping track of the cost of the ingredients
- Any other duties relating to the food laboratories assigned by NFS teachers, HOD/Craft and Technology and the School leaders.
Job Requirement:
- Minimum qualification of Primary 6
- Basic mathematical skills e.g. able to calculate the amount of ingredients based on a given recipe for seven classes
- Good knowledge on food ingredients and food preparation. Preferably to have attained the Basic Food Hygiene Course
- Must have at least 1 year experience working on food preparation in a commercial/school or training kitchen
- Previous working experience in a school-kitchen will be an added advantage
- Have a valid food hygiene certificate.
