General Manager (Business Development)

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the General Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the overall sales operations in China. This role involves developing and implementing strategic sales plans, overseeing sales activities. The General Manager will play a key role in expanding market presence, enhancing customer relationships, and driving the growth of the company’s products and services in the Chinese market. This position requires constant travel within China and Asia Pacific region including Middle East.


Job Responsibilities:


· Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve the company’s business objectives in China.

· Identify new market opportunities and lead initiatives to expand market share.

· Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activities to inform strategic decisions.

· Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on achieving and exceeding goals.

· Set and monitor sales targets, ensuring alignment with the overall company goals.

· Manage the sales budget and optimize resources to maximize profitability.

· Regularly report on sales performance, forecasts, and market conditions to senior management.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

· Ensure customer satisfaction through effective account management and addressing client concerns.

· Identify and develop relationships with potential business partners and distributors.

· Lead efforts to enter new markets /services in China.

· Ensure all sales activities comply with local laws and regulations.

· Ensure proper documentation and adherence to company policies.


Job Requirements:


· Bachelor's degree in Engineering field/ Business Administration

· Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a managerial role

· Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing market share.

· Experience in the Marine & Offshore, Oil & Gas industry

· Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

· Strong analytical thinking, problem solving skills, adaptability and flexibility

· In-depth knowledge of the Chinese market, including regulatory requirements and business practices, cultural awareness.

· Proficiency in Mandarin and English is required (verbal & written).
